Preface

Fun with English – I is introduced to the students who have completed their secondary school certificate examination. The book takes into account the needs of the students in the context of the present curriculum followed in various academic institutions. This book is designed in such a way so that students can acquire good working knowledge of English language vocabulary in a short time. Vocabulary is one of the language aspects. The students cannot listen, speak, read and write without understanding the meaning of words. By teaching words first, the students are easily able to read, understand and memorize words more quickly because it is very effective way. Students practice English spelling and learn new vocabulary with interactive word search puzzle, crossword puzzle and word scramble. These puzzles start easy as students proceed, become more and more challenging. These puzzles are great vocabulary, reading and spelling tools. This book is designed for learning English in the quickest and clearest way through comprehensive pictures. Words are taught through demonstration picture and association of idea in this book. This book teaches the students to remember the meanings of words using a mnemonic technique that is tremendously powerful.

I hope this book will serve the purpose of learning English language in an interesting way. Students usually practice writing the difficult words several times. This practice is old and boring. Thus I introduced pioneer and interesting way to learn vocabulary actively in a book. This book engages students in the learning process which increases their attention and focus. It motivates them to utilize critical thinking skills and promotes meaningful learning experience. After completion of this book, student will be able to use words in a sentence appropriately and use English effectively for study purpose across the curriculum. Though an attempt has been made the first version cannot demand totally perfect.
