Women Empowerment

Women’s empowerment is a new phrase in the vocabulary of gender literature. The phrase is used in two broad senses i.e. general and specific. In a general sense, it refers to empowering women to be self-dependent by providing them access to all the freedoms and opportunities, which they were denied in the past only because of their being women. In a specific sense, women empowerment refers to enhancing their position in the power structure of the society. The word women empowerment essentially means that the women have the power or capacity to regulate their day- to- day lives in the social, political and economic terms -a power which enables them to move from the periphery to the centre stage. In India, we believe something very strange like Cow as ‘Gaaymaata’, The River Narmada as ‘Narmadamaata’ or Ganga as ‘Gangamaata’. We worship and respect them. But the question that we need to ask ourselves, do we really believe in them?

From the Ancient time there is discrimination between Men and Women. It is constantly believed that Men can work better than Women. Now-a-days, time gets changed. Women are proved to be the best, only awareness is deficient. There is no doubt that we are in the midst of a great revolution in the history of women. The evidence is everywhere; the voice of women is increasingly heard in Parliament, courts and in the streets. While women in the West had to fight for over a century to get some of their basic rights, like the right to vote, the Constitution of India gave women equal rights with men from the beginning. Unfortunately, women in this country are mostly unaware of their rights because of illiteracy and the oppressive tradition. Names like Kalpana Chawla: The Indian born, who fought her way up into NASA and was the first women in space, and Indira Gandhi: The Iron Woman of India was the Prime Minister of the Nation, Beauty Queens like Aishwarya Rai and Susmita Sen, and Mother Teresa are representative of the condition of Indian women. Women need awareness and motivation to make their stage in society. In 21st century Both Men and Women are equal. To give voice to them there are many Women’s club and community runs. Even you can find it out on webpage. There are many websites specially made to enhance the expertise of women. Even on Zee TV, There are many serials which are based on Womanly contribution like ‘Mera Naam Karegi Roshan’ & ‘Aagle Jaanam Mein Mohe Bitiya Kijo’. Writing on women’s life or about women is eternally a central idea to get complete awareness; with this we can develop our country. It is believed that if women are well-built, one can make his or her country incredible. One mother can teach well her son or daughter the lesson of dignity of women.

Women have been trained to speak softly and carry lipstick. Those days are over! – Today’s Vision to visualize women’s status is uplifting since I am talking about Professional Women who are better in Human Values (Love + Care + Ethical Values) and Result-oriented work. In our culture, woman has to play many roles throughout her life, such as a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, and the most important role of the woman is “Mother.” – Respect woman – with her bliss country’s growth and prosperity is twice as great.
